Silk Artist Natasha Foucault needs your help. On Wednesday July, 29th 2009 at 4pm,  a box of 16 pieces of silk art work was taken from the parking garage adjacent to the Hilton Pasadena,  168 South Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California 91101.

The silk art was stretched over wood frames and was in a U-Haul box, 37 ½” tall x 27” wide x 4 ½’ deep – also inside were Natasha’s business cards and a poster of her book ‘Silk Diary’.

The artist, Natasha Foucault,  was there to set up for the Bead and Design Show being held in the Hilton Pasadena Hotel from July 30-August 2nd, stepped inside the building for a moment and when she came back to her car in a covered parking garage adjacent to the Hilton, the box of art was gone.

The content of the box included 16 painted silk pieces of art – photos are attached and the size of the piece is in the title of the art work.

Each piece is signed by the artist (see 2 variations of her signature in the attached photos)

As a fellow artist or an art collector, you can imagine how devastating it would be to have 16 pieces of fine art stolen.  If you have any information, if you saw someone pick up the box, if you picked up the box accidentally, or if you have seen the art surface anywhere, please contact the artist with your information.  A reward that leads to the return of the art work is being offered.   Any information would be most appreciated.

Natasha Foucault, a San Francisco artist, has been designated as a Signature Member of Silk Painters International (SPIN) by a jury of her peers. She has been given this international designation in recognition of her artistic achievements in silk painting. This designation entitles the artist to use the initials MSP (for Master Silk Painter) after her name.

Silk Painters International (SPIN) is an international organization whose mission is to support and encourage the professional development of silk artists and to promote worldwide recognition of and appreciation for fine silk art.

Have you ever wanted to see your designs on silk? Now is your opportunity to learn the ins and outs of silk paintings. This class will explore various techniques- gutta certi, salt, alcohol, linear underpainting, washes shading and blending. Students will create their own design on 15′ by 74′ Silk Crepe de Chine Scarf during this session. For the price of one designer hand painted scarf you will make your own plus you will learn the process.

Limited Class Size.
Workshop fee: $95, all supplies included.

Students of all levels can take this class.

Students will create there own design on 15” by 60” Silk Crepe de Chine Scarf during this session. For the less than price of one designer hand painted scarf you will get your own plus you will learn the process. Supplies include: a silk scarf 15” by 60” Crepe de Chine, Jacquard Green Label silk dyes, Gutta, brushes, salt, freezer paper, sketch paper, use of books and images for design ideas.

Cost: $60 (supplies included)
Location: Highland Art Center – Studio G.
Time: 6 pm to 9 pm.
Skill Level: All skill levels, beginner to advanced.

In these peaceful and serene surroundings, you will experience, through your juice fast, clarity of mind and a feeling of well being as you take your silk painting classes with Natasha Foucault, internationally known artist and silk painting teacher. Using photographs and sketches, we will make fine art, realistic silk paintings with a goal of three paintings completed. All silk painting materials will be provided.

Our days will include a jog through the forest, a swim in the lake, and several sessions of silk painting, with breaks for juices and yoga. The last two days, you will be served fresh raw fruits and vegetables.

All activities are optional and you may schedule your day to suit your needs.

There will be one to two trips to breathtaking Yosemite Valley, and kayaks available for the lake, tied to our own dock.

Using the principles of the Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, your food will be prepared by a naturopathic professional. All fruits and vegetables used will be organically grown.
